Our Foundation is a fully qualified 501c(3) tax exempt foundation under IRS rules. Formed in 1981 to help our communities in their business charitable activities, the Foundation has a number of standing projects and activities. Some of these include:

Vest A Cop -- Every police officer in Summit, New Providence and Berkeley Heights receives a $450 allowance towards their first bullet-proof vest. Replacement vests are part of the municipal uniform allowance. To date, over 200 vests have been donated.

Berkeley Heights Scholarship -- The Suburban Chamber of Commerce awards a $1,500 scholarship to a local Governor Livingston High School senior each year.

Summit Scholarship -- A $1,500 scholarship award is made to a graduating senior of Summit High School each year by the Suburban Chamber of Commerce.

New Providence Scholarship -- The Suburban Chamber of Commerce awards a $1,500 scholarship to a graduating New Providence High School senior each year.

The Foundation is proud to partner with a number of great local charities, such as the Rotary Club of Berkeley Heights, the United Way, and others in support of various causes and initiatives.

Funding for the Foundation comes from:

  • Annual Contributions from Members of the Chamber
  • Area residents are also welcome to make contributions
